Sri Nimal Padmakumara is a leading journalist in Sri Lanka. Born in 1954, Sri Nimal was first educated at Saraswathi Maha Vidyalaya, Koswadiya. He later completed his primary education at Mahawewa Maha Vidyalaya, Pothuwila Maha Vidyalaya and higher education at Kannangara Central College, Matugama and Aluthgama Maha Vidyalaya. He made his radio debut in 1978 with the radio program Ruwan Kelum
Provided the voice for a number of notes in the early days. He passed as a radio announcer in 1979 and in 1981 became the announcer of the first television lottery program in Sri Lanka, presenting the development lottery "Vasana Chakraya" program on television. Later, after the assassination of the announcer Premakirthi, he also directed the radio program "Sampath Sadaya" and the television program "Sampath Rekha".
Sri Nimal, who made his debut as a TV dramatist in the teledrama "Rekha" in 1983, has acted in a number of TV series. He has hosted various live shows on National Television and Independent Television and has been the host of a number of educational, religious and commercial programs on television.
His political career is a collection of many experiences, including his involvement in the 1974 by-elections in the Kalawewa electorate. Sri Nimal, who later joined the Mahaweli Authority in 1977 as an Information and Publicity Officer in 1977, resigned from the Mahaweli in 1998 and served as the Deputy Manager (Publicity) of the Mahaweli Center.
Mr. Nimal, who joined the cast of 'Janthu' on the radio station 'Muwan Pelassa' in 1984, wrote for Muwan Pelessa Radio Drama after the death of the then writer Victor Miguel in 1995. for 15 years from 1995 until 2010 . He later wrote the screenplay and dialogues for 220 episodes of the teledrama series "Korale Mahaththaya". Sri Nimal, who will start publishing in 2017, has already written a number of books
Sri Nimal married Sriyani Mallika in 1981 and is a father of two. Disney Tharinda's daughter and Wadeebha Chathura Sri's sons are his children.

සටහන් රැසක් සඳහා මුල් යුගයේදීම කටහඬ සැපයීය. 1979 දී ගුවන්විදුලියේ සහන නිවේදකයෙකු ලෙස සමත් වන හෙතෙම 1981 දී රූපවාහිනියේ සංවර්ධන ලොතරැයි " වාසනා චක්‍රය" වැඩ සටහන ඉදිරිපත් කරමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රථම රූපවාහිනී ලොතරැයි වැඩසටහන් ඉදිරිපත් කළ නිවේදකයා බවට පත් වන්නේය. පසුකලෙක නිවේදක ප්‍රේමකීර්ති ඝාතනය වීමෙන් පසුව " සම්පත් සාදය" ගුවන්විදුලි වැඩ සටහන හා "සම්පත් රේඛා" රූපවාහිනී වැඩ සටහනද මෙහෙයවීය.
1983 දී " රේඛා" ටෙලි නාට්‍යයෙන් රූපවාහිනී නාට්‍ය ශිල්පියෙකු ලෙස දොරට වඩින ශ්‍රී නිමල් , රූපවාහිනී කතා මාලා රැසක චරිත නිරූපණය කළේය. ජාතික රූපවාහිනියේ හා ස්වාධීන රූපවාහිනියේ විවිධ සජීව වැඩසටහන් රැසක් මෙහෙයවූ ඔහු රූපවාහිනී මාධ්‍ය තුළ අධ්‍යාපනික , ආගමික හා වෙළඳ වැඩ සටහන් රැසක මෙහෙයවන්නා බවට පත් විය.
1974 දී කලාවැව මැතිවරණ කොට්ඨාශයේ පැවැති අතුරු මැතිවරණයට සම්බන්ධ වෙමින් දේශපාලන කටයුතු වලට එක්වන ඔහුගේ දේශපාලන ජීවිතය අත්දැකීම් රැසක එකතුවකි. පසුකලෙක 1977 දී මහවැලි අධිකාරියේ ප්‍රවෘත්ති හා ප්‍රචාරක නිලධාරියෙකු ලෙස රජයේ රැකියාවක නියුතු වන ශ්‍රී නිමල් 1998 වසරේ මහවැලියෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වෙද්දී ඔහු මහවැලි කේන්ද්‍රයේ නියෝජ්‍ය කළමණාකාර (ප්‍රචාරක) තනතුරේ සේවය කළේය.
1984 දී " මුවන් පැලැස්ස " ගුවන්විදුලියේ "ජන්තු" ගේ චරිතයට හඬ පොවමින් එක්වන ශ්‍රී නිමල් 1995 දී එවකට රචකයා වූ වික්ටර් මිගල් මහතාගේ අභාවයෙන් පසු 2010 දක්වා වසර 15 ක් මුවන් පැලැස්ස ගුවන්විදුලියට රචනා කළේය. පසුව නිෂ්පාදනය වූ " කෝරළේ මහත්තයා " ටෙලිනාට්‍ය මාලාවේ කතාංග 220 ක තිර නාටක හා දෙබස් රචකයා ලෙසද කටයුතු කළේය. 2017 දී ග්‍රන්ථකරණයට පිවිසෙන ශ්‍රී නිමල් මේ වන විට පොත් රැසක් ලියා ඇත
1981 දී ශ්‍රියානි මල්ලිකා සමග විවාහ වන ශ්‍රී නිමල් දරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකුගේ පියෙකි. දිස්නි තරින්දා දියණිය හා වාදීභ චතුර ශ්‍රී පුතණුවන් ඔහුගේ දරුවන්ය.
